ESCAPE X IBIZA

The white isle. An isle that fills you with so much desire your return becomes inevitable.
Ibiza, one of the most beautiful places in the world, has something for everyone. Whether you are seeking some of the best beaches in the world, a wellness retreat or somewhere to party like no other, Ibiza is always the answer. Too die for landscapes, super clubs and a carefree attitude are all you need when hopping over to this Mediterranean treasure. Ibiza never does things by half and neither should you. Its appearance on this Summers to do list falls nothing short of spectacular.

Location
A spanish island with so much to say. Ibiza is renown as the worlds biggest party island attracting an array of famous faces the second Summer approaches. Unlike many other dream destinations Ibiza offers something different. There are multiple ways you can reside when on this island ...

Will you live it in the super club central?
Or stay close to the beloved sunset strip?
Will you walk the sea through waters of Formentera?
Or spend your days relaxing poolside at Nikki beach?

Here is the low down. If you would like access to the best boat parties, the strip and a phenomenal sunset aswell as clubs such as Eden and Es Paradis- stop in San Antonio. San Antonio Bay is also a boat taxi away if things are a little too hectic in San Antonio- 8am is when things get quiet (for a few hours at least). On the flip side San Jose is calmer, quieter and more luxurious. However, if you are in need of a little luxury whilst remaining party central Playa d'en Bossa is home to the famous party hotel Ushuaia.
Formentera is a short ferry trip away. Popular with many famous faces this island is home to some of the clearest waters and gorgeous landscapes you will ever lay your eyes on. If you love the beach the distance is worth the while.

The time to scream

I could talk about fashion, beauty and travel all day for days but I won't. It is clear to see over the past few months through my posts, my social media and myself that my focus has somewhat realigned. Whilst I have always been passionate and interested in politics and current affairs my voice is no longer an expression of interest but one with a purpose.

Today we live in a world that has taken a step back in time. One where women are fighting for their reproductive rights, one where religion and nationality are deciding factors as to whether you can successfully gain entry into a country and one where a god damn wall is a central talking point.

This is not the world we anticipated but it's the world we got.

Over the past two weeks we have seen a Presidential Inauguration riddled with lies, or as some would call it 'alternative facts'. We have seen women march in solidarity around the world fighting for equality and a voice. But right now we see hundreds of US airports and streets that are filled with protestors welcoming refugees into their country, when it's been made quite clear that their leader do not welcome them.

Whilst many of us wanted Hillary to win the election more than anything and still consistently cling onto the hope she had given us we are instead left with something else.
A new democratically elected US President sits in the oval office. A man himself who has even questioned electoral fraud because he did not obtain the popular vote.

We may not have liked the results, or could I say despised them? However when the results of the US election were announced we knew he was here to stay. Whether you were a US citizen or a global one, despair brought us together. Tighter than ever and in unison a collection of voices prepared for the struggles that lay ahead.

These were not the struggles that anyone had anticipated.

The President is the President.
The world has accepted this.
This is democracy.

Using executive powers to promote and execute injustice, to bring pain and heartbreak to the lives of the American people are not acts of democracy. They are wrong. A key indication of this is when those who voted you in are against the actions you have taken.

In a time where the world should join America in celebration, a time where voices have been heard and actions were to take place, we are left with a mess. A dangerous mess. This is a world where calling people out on Twitter and playing with power override the thousands of voices that are screaming out in pain. Voices who want to be heard.

Now it is your turn.
Ignorance is far from bliss.
Passion and strive are needed to make the world go around.
Passion and strive are needed to make a difference.
But most of all passion and strive are needed to show solidarity and hope for those who need it.
It's time to let them know.

No one is saying commit yourself to participating in political discussion. However that moment you begin questioning why your Twitter feed is filled with Anti Trump tweets and #MuslimBan, or the newspapers and awards season acceptance speeches are all about peace, hope and a change in the world. Ask yourself, what would you do if that was you? The world is a dangerous place, play your part in making a difference.

America, the world is with you.

Ways to slay

Guess whose back my darlings?
Some may say it's been a while but I can only promise you I have been planning a whole lot of sass and a whole lot of love ... because we are all for a little excitement right? Everything appears to be all work and no play these days but thats not always the case, as long as you make it worth your while.
It's time to slay.

We gon' slay, gon' slay, we slay, I slay- Beyonce

1| Experiment and excel
A little spontanuity goes a long way so always make a conscious effort to say yes to things that scare you. Who would have thought jumping on that aeroplane solo would allow you to dominate a new surrounding? Or maybe it's time to drop everything and refresh?
This could make you instead of break you, never let fear get in your way.

2| Dare and desire
With little opportunity to back out, the act of daring yourself can be defining. If I say i'm going to do something I will do it, whether that is in an instant or in a while. Why would you dare yourself in the first place if you didn't desire the potential outcome?

3| Thrill and thrive
Do not be boring.
This mantra is applicable in all areas of life whether thats style, work or relations.
If you find a certain setting thrilling it's time to show everyone what you are made of.
Turn satisfaction into pleasure and thrive.

4| Speak and suceed
You have a voice so use it. Many have proven that it only takes one person to have a significant impact in the world. Have you ever thought that person could be you? Success is measured in many ways and is different to many people. Its your turn to influence, inspire and motivate others.

5| Figure and flourish
Life is tough ... build a bridge. When life gets you down find a solution before it gets the better of you. The ability to pull through your darkest time prepares you for anything that is to come. Instead of picking yourself up refrain from allowing it to overcome you at all

6| Get up and get a grip
Stop complaining and get it together, no explanation needed. Don't be a time waster, the world is YOUR oyster.

 7| Charm and challenge
A little charm goes a long way, we all know that. However use this to your advantage. The ability to charm is nothing unless you can provide a challenge. Never show weakness.
No one can make you feel inferior with your consent- Eleanor Roosevelt.

8| Bewitch and bypass
Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate hate?
We all know how to say au revoir, don't let anyone dim your light.

9| Mesmerise and minimise
Take your head out the clouds darling. Whilst we all dream of frolicking on the beach of a deserted island that will come in time. If you really want something nothing will get in your way so minimise that daydream and go get it.

10| Sass and slay
Sassiness makes the world go round. It's a way of saying you never take life too seriously. Sure these are a few life guidelines but no one said you can't have a little fun whilst fulfilling your goals.
You've got this.

In need of a Vacation

Sometimes you need to get away ... so I did just that.
No work, no writing and not much of anything for a entire week.
It's important to relax and recharge every so often, even if you find yourself working endlessly.
A little sun, sea and sand never goes a miss and this year I found paradise in Turkey.

Explore, escape, enjoy your Summer darlings.
Watch as I document mine, after all fashion week is around the corner.

Emma Watson- HeForShe U.N. address on Feminism

Emma Watson- U.N. Women's Goodwill ambassador and the most powerful source of global motivation in tackling gender equality.

No longer does feminism mean 'man hating'. Instead Watson's speech delivered on Saturday to kickstart the HeForShe campaign focused on the origins of gender inequality and aims to encourage men and boys to join in the fight against for Women's equality.

'I decided I was a feminist and this seemed uncomplicated to me. But my recent research has shown me that feminism has become an unpopular word. Apparently I am among the ranks of women whose expressions are seen as too strong, too aggressive, isolating, anti-men and, unattractive.
Why is the word such an uncomfortable one?
I am from Britain and think it is right that as a woman I am paid the same as my male counterparts. I think it is right that I should be able to make decisions about my own body. I think it is right that women be involved on my behalf in the policies and decision-making of my country. I think it is right that socially I am afforded the same respect as men. But sadly I can say that there is no one country in the world where all women can expect to receive these rights.'

This darling actress is using her iconic status for change. Having previously laughed in the face of a statue of Turkey'sexist deputy Prime Minister this wonderful lady has attracted millions of viewers and broken the U.N. website all in the name of this worthy and passionate cause.

I myself agree with her statements. Whilst I consider myself a feminist I am no man hater and Emma has placed into words something that many of us are still exporing and we applaud her.

Take a look at her U.N. speech, it's life changing and thought provoking.

Katy Perry- Prismatic World Tour Costume Couture

10th May 2014: Katy Perry, Prismatic World Tour
On Saturday I combined two of my favourites, fashion and Katy Perry. The whole Prismatic experience was something truly phenomenal and her outfits were one of the major contributors to this. Unlike her last tour, which was just as fabulous, Katy opted for designer pieces rather than costumes. It wasn't just one eye Katy caught but an array of designers who made bespoke pieces for her world tour. This starlet is touring until December so it was only right that each piece was thoughtful, sassy and powerful and would remain eternally phenomenal. What was even more exciting is that this was only her second location of the whole tour so we were exposed to this amazing show before the rest of the world.
Ravishing Roberto
Designer: Roberto Cavalli
Songs: Roar, Part of Me,  This moment, love me
This piece could not have been any more perfect to start the show. As Katy emerged out of what can only be described as a pyramid, she set the tone for the whole night. As well as capturing the intricate detail and elegance this ensemble has, Katy's quirky style was more vibrant than ever. With neon lights accessorised around the hem of both her top and skirt and running through her sleek ponytail Katy's audience indulged in her outfit rather than becoming distracted by the surrounding props. Roberto Cavalli's vision was achieved to it's finest.

Puglisi Cleopatra Chic
Designer: Fausto Puglisi
Songs:  Darkhorse, ET, Legendary Lovers
We then travelled into ancient Egypt where Katy emerged on a golden horse, accessorised with divine metallic colour combinations. Even dressed as an Egyptian goddess this outfit felt anything but a costume. From those gorgeous lilac knee highs and her embellished strapless dress Katy was a vision of dominance. Her tour was a work of an art, that only mastery could achieve. For a piece that could easily look tacky, understated and fit for a pantomime, Fausto Puglisi ensured Katy looked head to toe chic and succeeded in her portrayal of the Egyptian Queen.

Kitty Purry by The Blonds
Designer: The Blonds
Songs:  Kissed a girl, HOT n Cold, International Vogue Smile
Who looks this good wearing a catsuit?! Not to mention her costume change time was ridiculously short! Katy shows off her fun and feisty side before getting a little more serious singing acoustic in Valentino couture.

Valentino by nature
Designer: Valentino
Songs:  By the Grace of God, The one that got away, Double rainbow, Unconditionally
This ensemble was magical and bohemian and perhaps my favourite of the entire night. Anyone who knows of Valentino's creations knows that he is a master. This outfit is simply breathtaking and of course it is only right Katy also wears rainbow locks to add a little of her personality to the piece.

Mischievous Moschino
Designer: Jeremy Scott
Songs: Dance Mix, Walking on Air,  This is how we do-TGIF
This Moschino, Jeremy Scott creation is the epitome of Katy's Prismatic world tour. Fun, feisty and fabulous. Moschino dominated the runway for AW14 with their brand inspired pieces such as the McDonalds ensembles and accessories (which Katy is a big fan of).  This smiley face printed combo which paired with her slime green hair is one element that separates Katy from every other artist. Her outfits mirror both her song and mood and Katy had the entire audience at her feet. In two hours she was able to portray every emotion which was enabled by her outfit. Who would have thought a designer & costume combination like this could ever work?

A Wujec kinda Met dress
Designer: Johnny Wujec
Songs: It takes two
This was most certainly a good enough reason to miss the Met Gala however Katy was there in spirit and topped the list for the most extravagant gown. Whilst she could have sang this ballad stood in the middle of the stage holding a microphone, like every other artist, she twirled in an over dramatic yin/yang dress en capturing every single member of the audience. This gown is dramatic but surprisingly believable allowing everyone to take her seriously which is unexpected due to it's extravagance.

West coast represent by Wujek
Designer: Johnny Wujek
Songs: Teenage Dream, California Girls
You wouldn't think Katy's Cali girl songs from Teenage Dream could be considered old school but these songs were released in 2010 that is four years ago!! Katy remains her flirty and playful self and we couldn't imagine her in anything other than a bikini when singing these 'classics'. Four years on and she remains the same, but better.

Sweet by Discount Universe

Designer: Discount Universe
Songs: Birthday
This was the most magical part of the entire night. This sheer catsuit is the closest Katy could get to her birthday suit and believe it or not, it was from Discount Universe!. She floated through the air as streamers and confetti showered the audience. If there is one part of the night to be entirely jealous of, this is most certainly it. Her ensemble was simplistic in everything but print allowing it to be appropriate yet show stopping.

Prismatic

Designer: Todd Thomas
Songs: Firework
The encore portrayed Katy at her finest. Wearing a dramatic catsuit with an added extravagant skirt this fabulous lady was a vision. This is my favourite kind of Katy. The colours were gorgeous and continued her Prismatic transformation we were expose to from the beginning of the night. Back to her normal black loose locks (even if it was a wig),  Katy was picture perfection. The experience was worth her absence from the Met Ball red carpet as her tour wardrobe provided us with all the glamour we desired.

Introducing the Royal Baby ...

At 7:15pm after a 36 hour wait, or should I say 23 day wait for the worlds press the Royal Baby was introduced to the world. Both William and Kate glimmered showing how in love they are with their precious arrival.
Kates locks looked fabulous along with her choice of outfit, a blue Jenny Packham polka dot dress. Diana also wore a polka dot dress when William was born.
They are yet to choose a name leaving the world anticipating even more.

Our future Kings and Queen,

What kind of girl are you? Holiday evening looks

So I have already posted about how to look fabulous during the day whilst on holiday. Now it is time to address how to look in the evening and there are so many different features to take into consideration what country are you going to? What will you be doing? What is appropriate? The great thing about evening looks is that it is your time to experiment especially when you are abroad. Have a neon pink dress? you wear that dress (by the way neon is in this season so take note)! It is time to get out of your comfort zone, you maybe in a strange place but you will never see these people again so say hello to experimentation and confidence. Your outfits should coincide with your activity are you having a romantic candlelit dinner? or going to a show? or clubbing? maybe you are just relaxing with a few drinks? There is an outfit for every occasion and you will be sure to impress. Here is a mixture of designer and high street pieces, remember you can mix and match and also substitute.
