Call it a classic

We all know I adore all things bold, bright and experimental when it comes to fashion stakes but this wedding season I sidelined and reached for the complete opposite. Unintentionally channelling Audrey Hepburn, Givenchy vibes in Breakfast at Tiffanys, I opted for a black peplum embellished dress.
Yes, black- one colour palette I never appear to reach for.

The added embellishment kept this ensemble far from boring and settled at the perfect length, just above my knee. Accessorising was minimal as very little assistance was needed to compliment this outfit that I paired with a pink clutch and stilettos during the day and black in the evening. This classic look is one of my favourites.

Remember making a statement created the icons.

Ooohlalaa its fashion takes 5

Can you believe it’s been 5 years since we started here? Five years of killer sunglasses, endless city nights, dreamy beaches and all things runway. A lot has changed in five years and it has been one insane journey. Five years ago Anne Hathaway was winning an Academy and colourful tights were all the rage. We’ve flown the world, seen some of the most show stopping runways and kept it real in a world that just won’t stop evolving for the better and the worse. We’ve learned to have a voice, to count our blessings and to be ambitious. It doesn’t stop here. Thank you for your continued support particularly over the past few years it has kept me determined, driven and of course a little sassy. Ooohlalaa it’s fashion my darlings x

Down to earth

February is alway the strangest month. Congratulations, you made it through the January blues however know that your Summer vacay is still five months away. The key to keeping yourself motivated over these next few months is keeping it real. Throw yourself into what you are passionate about, work hard and surround yourself by encouragement- trust me you will be thanking yourself before you know it.
Keep it real: Set yourself realistic goals
Keep your head out the clouds and set the bar but make sure you can get there. Deadlines are everything, if you could do it you should do it.
Keep it real: Plan, but don't overplan
You can't do everything but you can do most things. Keep yourself busy, reconnect and throw yourself into all things that matter. A girl on the go is a girl who is motivated and ready to kill it.
Keep it real: Surround yourself by ambition
Focus on yourself. Be a little selfish. Don't let others put you down. Not everyone will strive for what you desire and thats ok, but don't let it demotivate you. It's easy to be blinded but keep your head down and priorities in check, no one strives to be a people pleaser.
Keep it real: Have a little fun
It's not all work and no play. PLAN your Summer, set yourself something to look forward to. Do not turn boring. Take a break, get scandalous, make a mistake and learn a lesson. Buy those shoes you can't afford, leave that party later than you should, say the things you shouldn't, experiment with your style, be outrageous but keep it real.

Stay down to earth darling, because once you've left no one likes a fall.

Do you dare? | SHOP MY LOOK

Making a statement when it comes to style is elaborate, extensive and requires experimentation. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Here are my four fail proof rules when it comes to overstepping boundaries and experimenting with your look. Whilst these are simple, and can be interpreted as you please, they may require a touch of bravery if they deviate from your comfort zone.

Darlings, do you dare to make a statement?

#1 Experiment with colour. Black is classic but will it stand out from the crowd?
#2 Be outrageous. Take your favourite trends off the runway and onto the streets.
#3 Always accessorise, it can change the way an entire outfit is perceived.
#4 Embrace your look and let the world know it.

RULE BREAKERS X COACHELLA

If you find yourself lucky enough to be in the Californian desert over the next two weeks, the place where we all dream to be, make use of it.
Rule breaking is back and it's even more scandalous than you expect.
Festival style has taken a turn for the better, but will you dare to embrace?

Darling ditch those flower crowns
Braids are all the rage and we aren't talking pretty. It's time things got a little hot and heavy so whether you are weaving your way to magic or creating a beaded situation, go overboard and excessive.

Didn't you hear gingham is the new floral?
... and it is everywhere. Who would have thought Dorothy style vibes would turn things upside down? Florals are over, and so are you if you dare to wear. Take this print and wear it out.

Slider your way into frolics
Forget boots, they have worn themselves out. The best thing is that their replacement is all the more effortless and not to mention undeniably resistible. You know you shouldn't but whether Kimoji or fluffy, we all know you can't wait to get your hands on a pair of sliders.

Head to toe in jewels my darling
Body jewellery is utterly divine so forget saving your chains for bikini days, the more you wear the better. Take inspiration from Kendall and Em Rata, if there was ever two women to turn to for impeccable style stakes these are a must. Not to mention they are festival royalty.

Slogan sass
Let your tee do the speaking. Everyone desires to make a statement without even saying a word and now is your chance. Let your sassy attitude speak through your show stopping style just be less offensive and more overly dramatic. You will be surprised how many make the cut.

Beauty blunder beau
Blues, pink, corals and everything in between. Forget your beauty no go's for just one weekend. Rules were made to be broken at festivals so why stop in your flawless beauty look? If there was ever a time to experiment it's right now, just don't relegate yourself to glitter.

We talk trends and we talk rules but sometimes we need to take a step back and revise exactly just what we are doing . This is your chance to overstep the boundaries, make it count and take regret off the horizon.

Once you start you won't be able to stop.

'Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.
What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane.
Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that.
What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.' Amazon SHOP

Then, one night, it does.
But does the stranger on her doorstep hold the answers Lou is searching for - or just more questions?Close the door and life continues: simple, ordered, safe. Open it and she risks everything. But Lou once made a promise to live. And if she's going to keep it, she has to invite them in . . .' Amazon SHOP

Fun, feisty, thrilling and outrageous...
The Singles Game
By Laura Weisberger

'Sweeping from Wimbledon to the Caribbean, from LA to mega yachts in the Med, The Singles Game is a brilliantly entertaining romp through a world where the stakes are high – and no-one plays by the rules.
When Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Silver makes a pact with the devil, infamously brutal tennis coach Todd Feltner, she finds herself catapulted into a world of stylists, private parties and secret dates with Hollywood royalty.
Under Todd it’s no more good-girl attitude: he wants warrior princess Charlie all the way. After all, no-one ever won by being nice. Celebrity mags and gossip blogs go wild for Charlie, chasing scandal as she jets around the globe. But as the warrior princess’s star rises, both on and off the court, it comes at a high price. Is the real Charlie Silver still inside?' Amazon SHOP

A little scandalous...
(The 5th book in the Crossfire series)
One with You
By Sylvia Day

'Gideon Cross. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I've ever done. It happened instantly. Completely. Irrevocably.
Marrying him was a dream come true. Staying married to him is the fight of my life. Love transforms. Ours is both a refuge from the storm and the most violent of tempests. Two damaged souls entwined as one.
We have bared our deepest, ugliest secrets to one another. Gideon is the mirror that reflects all my flaws . . . and all the beauty I couldn't see. He has given me everything. Now, I must prove I can be the rock, the shelter for him that he is for me. Together, we could stand against those who work so viciously to come between us.
But our greatest battle may lie within the very vows that give us strength. Committing to love was only the beginning. Fighting for it will either set us free . . . or break us apart.' Amazon SHOP

A bikini and a beach

Whether you're a one piece darling or a high waisted honey, buying swimwear is high on the priority list of many who are jetting off to tropical destinations. Whilst brands endlessly promote their extensive range of swimwear that does not always mean that they are able to fulfil your search for the bikini of your dreams.

Everyone has a favourite when it comes to swimwear. Whilst many adore one piece swimsuits, retro tankinis or a two piece plunge my favourite will forever remain a classic cup less two piece.

Here I give you my favourite places to purchase swimwear. Whilst some are more costly you will certainly find some of your favourite high street brands amongst them! Each of these brands have their own vision but one thing is for sure they remain experimental, bright and fun and so should you.

Victoria's Secret

Jetlag kind of blue

Hi my darlings!
If you're up reading at this time on a Sunday night like me i'm guessing you're
one: procrastinating two: can't sleep

Who knew jet lag was even a real thing? For someone who survives on four hours of sleep a night I thought I would brush it off in an instance but after an 11 hour flight, in which I couldn't sleep, and multiple naps throughout my day I now well and truly understand.

When I arrived in the gorgeous city of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico it was afternoon which with a 3am GMT call time and a six hour time difference left me struggling to stay awake.

Waking up at 5am the next morning left me with an overwhelming desire to do a little exploring. A stroll along a deserted beach would be first thing on anyones mind, right?

If only every AM was as desirable as the Pacific Coast.
