Happy Halloween

All Hallow's Eve. The one day of the year it's socially acceptable to play dress up. The only question is, who do you want to be? There are questions to make me feel like boys again. Or turn little girls into queens.
-Gossip Girl

Playing dress up for your man on Halloween is one thing. You do it any other night you end up on an afternoon talk show.
-Pretty Little Liars

In the real world, Halloween is when kids dress up in costumes and beg for candy. In girl world, Halloween is the one day of the year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it.

The hottest Autumn/Winter 2013 colours

We are well into Autumn, and Winter is on it's way. Now is the opportunity to embrace this season's hottest colours straight off the catwalk. You will find these colours in all the stores both high street and high end so they are easily accessible. Wearing these colours not only make you look great but also show that you keep on top of the latest trends,
all eyes are on you
Make sure you take these colours into consideration when you choose your key season pieces such as your winter coat or boots. The great thing about this season is there are 6 key colours so if you are unsure or do not like a particular one there are other options. The colours are statement making so be careful not to use too much of the same colour in one ensemble as it may become a little too overpowering. I'm here to give you a little inspiration for when you shop you're A/W13 wardrobe and show where these colours could potentially fit in.
Enjoy and embrace darlings ...

The Winter Coat- A must have AW13 wardrobe piece

This morning I woke to a rainy Monday morning in Newcastle, not everyones favourite. A little concerned about the walk to uni without ruining my outfit in some shape or form it was time my winter coat made an appearance. I've made it til October without one, call this a record in England. For me I had a particular type of coat in mind when searching for this one. I love bright colours, needed a hood for practicality (umbrellas do rainy, not wind and rain!) and of course it needed to be super chic.

My coat is green (bright colour, check), a removable hood (check) and looks fabulous (check). I purchased this from Topshop for £69 which is an amazing price for a Topshop coat as I have paid over £100+ in the past. My advice to you darlings is invest in a winter coat, it will certainly be worth your while as you will wear it time and time again.
Watch this space ... the hottest winter coats around will soon appear.

Autumn is here

Today it rained, the first time it has properly rained since my move back to the city. Had I missed it? No not at all. Had I missed autumn? Completely. Autumn is my favourite season, typically leaves falling off the trees, pretty scenery and the likes of halloween, but what really excited me about autumn is the many opportunities there is for the cutest outfits.
Whether you're running to a lecture, work, shopping or visiting a pumpkin patch (do you realise how hard these are to locate up here?) there is a perfect outfit for every occasion. Really place effort into your styling because not only will you look fabulous, you will also feel it and people will take notice. Many people would throw on leggings and a sweatshirt (only appropriate work out pieces in my opinion) when the weather is horrendous but they fail to realise there are many other options. This is where signature A/W pieces come into play hello winter coat, hello boots, hello colours.
My ensemble today consisted of a mulberry coloured blazer from New Look, £25 and Primark Top, £4. Mulberry is a must have trend colour this season and I love it especially because it goes with my chocolate coloured hair not to mention a tailored blazer is also a wardrobe essential. I barely ever shop in Primark but as I walked past I spotted this cute cami with a leather look, lined pocket and couldn't resist.
My other pieces are jeans from River Island, £35, Oasis Bracelet, £18 and River Island boots, £35. As you will have noticed from previous outfit of the day posts River Island is my favourite place to buy jeans as they do long legged which many other high street and even high end stores do not. The only problem is that they are sometimes difficult to find at different points of the year and presumably sell out quickly so therefore I have to buy a few pairs at a time. I love my boots which are a new buy. Every year I struggle to find a pair of boots that I really really like and sometimes do without. I like that these are laced and suede, not always practical but they looked too good not to purchase.

Let me see you first A/W pieces darlings and tell me what you think of mine.
