BAFTA Beauty Challenge

BAFTA Challenge, by House of Fraser

This blogger challenge came at the most perfect time. The task was to re create a beauty look inspired by one of your favourite red carpet starlet. I have just attended my Politics ball in which I channelled both my hair and make up loosely on Julianne Hough's iconic look. She always has the most chic and sophisticated red carpet presence whilst looking sassy and flirtatious. I am obsessed with this beauty look, believing its' both feminine and elegant.

Here is my look:

My Hair:
My updo was the work of Gary Headley, a city salon
which is a great recommend for girls on the go who require an up do.

My make up look:
I had a LA spray tan to create a bronzed summer
look which would compliment my blush coloured dress.

Face:
Benefit Porefessional Primer
Body Shop BB cream in 01
Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 06 Warm Beige
Body Shop illuminating pearls
Benefit High Beam highlighter
Body Shop Marshmallow blusher

Eyes:
Urban decay eyeshadow primer
Urban decay Naked Palette, using shades Virgin, Sidecar, Smoke, Darkhorse
Ubran decay loose eyeshdow in Midnight cowboy
Benefit they're real mascara
Rimmel waterproof exaggerate mascara

Eyebrows:
Urban decay Naked Palette shade Buck

Lips:
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine lipstain, Electra Hot Pink

My House of Fraser wishlist item:
Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine delight perfume
'A luminous bouquet of fresh picked florals, Daisy Delight Edition is a vibrant expression of Daisy signature. The fragrance blooms into a burst of quince flower and iris, brightened with crisp red apple. Sun Ripened woods and musks dry down to a warm sensual embrace.'

What could sound more perfect? The key heart notes of this fragrance are Apple, Quince flower, Freesia, Iris, Gardenia and my favourite, Peony. Florals are my favourite and are the most divine scent. I have been longing to wear Daisy since it's release. This perfume would complete my red carpet look.

Inspired by Mum blogger challenge

If there is one thing my mum taught me when it comes to fashion it's that colour is EVERYTHING.
For this competition I could have submitted an outfit that was replica or inspired by one of my mums however this is not what she would encourage me to do. Whilst most people would cringe at the thought of their mum choosing an outfit I honestly don't mind! I could rely on her to pick me up any outfit- she would shop at the right shops and look for the right styles.
Black is a partial no go where we are concerned. Unless there is an impeccable black ensemble we stay away and even then coloured accessories are a must have. Her favourite colour is red which is reflected in her everyday style and triggered my obsession with red lips. Red lips are powerful and have the power to complete a look.
My outfit
 Playsuit & Shoes: Topshop
This turquoise piece is one of my favourites and the lace back is divine. I find this AW13 colour particularly flattering and love wearing it as it is very rare that you can pick up this colour on the high street.

My must have House of Fraser item:

As you know I like to do things a little different, not wacky by all means, however enjoy adding a little sassyness to ensembles. This Coast Harper clutch is gorgeous and is another darling trend colour. The purple would compliment the turquoise and complete the outfit to it's finest. If red lips are not really your thing you could easily substitute for a lipstick that had more tints of pink. I believe the concentration should lie in either the shoes or the clutch and in this case I believe the clutch has more impact as all attention is drawn to the playsuit itself meaning your feet would be a little neglected. Every girl loves a little sparkle and glamour and this clutch provides both. Remember darlings it is all about experimenting and adding this fabulous piece would be doing this.

I hope you all have a lovely mother's day and spoil your mums, they are worthy!
